Cannobio and surroundings

Cannobio, situated on Lake Maggiore (the lake is 65 km long, 3-4.5 km wide and 372 m deep), in the province of Verbania, Piemont. Only 4 km from the border to Switzerland, between Verbania and Locarno (Switzerland).

Situated on the west coast, before the entrance of the Cannobina Valley. Cannobio is a medieval village, at 214 m of altitude, with 6´000 inhabitants. Surrounded by a lot of small villages situated on the hills around.

The tourist will spend his holidays, here in a typical Italian village, with old churches, village piazzas and a nice new promenade along the lakeside, with restaurants, and coffee shops. Picturesque old lanes and statues of people of the history.
Nice climate, fresh air, beaches, and a lot of paths for excursions in the mountains nearby, boat tours on the lake - all that is offered in Cannobio !

On Sundays there is a big market in Cannobio, along the lakeside - a big attraction with a wide selection of food and non-food. During all year round Cannobio offers some typical village feasts and dance nights, nearly all during high season. A way to meet people of the village and other tourists.

In the surrounding mountains you can see houses here and there, towards the Cannobina Valley, a Valley with impressive views, above Cannobio.

Oaks, beech, fir trees, larch, but also palms, rhododendrons, camellias, azaleas, mimosas and a lot more are the plants and trees that you will find in Cannobio - a paradise in bloom during Spring time !
