Camping Riviera is situated directly on Lake Maggiore and at the side of the mouth of Cannobino River. At the entrance of the village of Cannobio, only 500 m from the centre and only 4 km from the Swiss border. Open from End of March until Mid October.
The first row of pitches at the lakeside enjoy a wonderful view of the opposite Italian side of the lake, as well as toward Ascona/Locarno on the Swiss lakeside. The Swiss Alpine massif is often snow covered in spring, whilst on the lakeshore Mimosas, Camellias and Magnolias are in full bloom.
The 268 plots of the campsite are of different sizes and are separated from each other by Mediterranean plants; such as Oleanders, Camellias, azaleas and many others. Besides the pitches in first row on the lake or river with a fantastic view (with supplement) our guests love our pitches with own sanitation on the place (a little house with toilet/shower/washbasin on the place - with supplement - 16 plots).
The lake has excellent water quality (the „Blue Flag 2002/2003/2004/2005“ has been achieved from the Commune of Cannobio. It is an environmental achievement. This makes swimming, surfing, and sailing excursions by boat, snorkelling and diving safer. Besides a motor boats slip there are mooring buoys for rent. In the immediate locality exists the possibility to hire motor boats, sailing boats, catamarans, and peddles. At the "Lido" in Cannobio sailing and surf courses are held.
On the campsite there are five well separated sanitary blocks - with separate single washrooms, hot showers (free of charge), English WC's. Besides sanitary with ramps and aids for disabled, and a changing table for babies. One sanitary is completely closed, important during low season, when temperature can be a little chilly. 16 pitches with own sanitation (with supplement, see above).
Different accommodation: there are simple or new luxury-apartments, bungalows beside the river, bungalows on stilts, mobilhomes, a new luxury-mobilhome XXL and our new mini-suites for rent – for every taste the right accommodation!
There are two restaurants; one with a nice terrace and a places to sit under a lovely pergola, called "Gourmet Al Lago" (the name already speaks for it); and the restaurant "Riviera" at the entrance of the campsite, which serves typical Italian food. Besides a mini-market with a wide range of food and wine.
Directly on the campsite small fridges can be hired (situated near the toilet block). Washing machines and a drier are available.
Both for pitches and accommodation, during high season (Summer months), a reservation is recommended, by letter, by telephone, by fax or by e-mail (please requests always with complete address and phone number for any feedback!). For emplacements reservation we request a minimum stay of 10 nights. Always ask also for our booking conditions first before starting a request! In our accommodation we request a minimum stay of 3 nights.
Historical:
The father of today's owner created the campsite in 1960. It is one of the oldest campsites in Cannobio, as well as Lake Maggiore.
Camping Riviera is happy to welcome its guests, some coming to Cannobio for over 40 years! The many regular customers value above all the multilingual abilities and support the family provide. The owner and his family live at the campsite during the season providing personal contact and control; which creates a friendly and close contact with customers.
